Realistic Motherhood Journals

About Me
Hey! I'm Aysha, a 28 year old mama living in gorgeous Kelowna BC. I have two little boys, Ryden (3) and Oaklyn (8 months); a cat Chandler (yes from FRIENDS), a dog Echo and the most amazing Husband Josh. My husband and I have been together 8 years and married for four.

In what little free time I have, I ski, play softball, watch TV and go to spin class. I also love spending time with my family and going on dates with my husband. I am currently on maternity leave and will probably just work very part time until Ryden is in Kindergarten.

My husband works very long hours, the boys and I spend our time at the park, going to playgroups, walking the dog and lots of playdates.

About my Journals
I felt this need to share true stories about mom life. Plus I throw in organization, food and outfit inspiration with some resources because why not?!

I started this website because I didn’t like how romanticized the pregnancy/birth/ post partum industry is. Everything is put through this magical lens of bringing a baby into this world. I agree that it is very exciting and bringing a new human into this world is magical and once you're out of it that's probably how most of it will be remembered but that is not most people’s experience. The reality of it is, is that it sucks, it is the hardest thing I have ever done and I wish that part was more acknowledged and talked about, so I am going to talk about it. I'm going to share the magic of motherhood but with very realistic experiences.
I am not a writer and I am not trying to be one. My stories are basically journal entries, they may be short, some big events may be longer, some may be in point form or just a bunch of separated sentences. I am going to write how I talk so I hope it will be easy to read, or maybe it will be hard because it is my stream of consciousness. My stories will also be written out of order, each journal will be dated with the day I have written it. I don’t really swear in my everyday life but I swear in my stream of consciousness because it makes things funny and can add emphasis so there will be some swearing. Also I use lol, "like"and exclamation points way too much in my writing, it is probably the millennial in me!

If no one reads this, no one reads this, it kept me busy and I will have an amazing way to remember the hardest part of motherhood. The part that isn't usually remembered very well!
