Birth

I love a good birth story, if you do too you're in the right place.

Both of my births were inductions but very different experiences. Different medications, different people and a different me. Same hospital though.

Ryden's Birth Story

March 11, 2025

Let me start off by saying I am writing this when Ryden is 3 years old so some of the facts may be a little off, births can be hard to remember because you have no concept of time. This story starts at 36 weeks. I went to a standard midwife appointment and my blood pressure came back high so they sent me to the hospital.

Get Yourself a Doula

December 10, 2024

Get yourself a doula!  Here's why I will now tell everyone to get a doula. For my first birth I didn't have a doula, partly because of COVID and it was just me and my husband which ended up being really nice but we did wish we had a little more help.

Oaklyn's Birth Story

October 13, 2024

With Oaklyn I had to be induced, I was 38 days and 1 day. When you have a scheduled induction they call you in the morning to tell you when to come in, it depends on how many women came in overnight.

Episiotomy vs. Tearing

August 27, 2024

I kept hearing episiotomies are bad and tearing is better throughout my entire pregnancy. Then after 3 hours of pushing I was told I needed an episiotomy. My second birth I tore, I can verify tearing is way better than an episiotomy.
